My word for 2024 is "IMAGINE" and boy does that fit as I am creative and kind of a dreamer and always have so many ideas going on in my mind. I love that this is a gift from the Lord and that I can keep perspective with all of that all year long.
Here are a few scriptures that go with my word...
Ephesians 3:20 NIV - Now to him who is able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
God's promise is one of abundance, surpassing our wildest dreams. As believers, we are invited to dream big, knowing that God's power is working within us can bring about outcomes that exceed our imagination.
Proverbs 29:18 KJV - Where there is no vision, the people perish.
Scripture emphasizes the importance of having a vision. God encourages us to dream big and imagine a future filled with His purpose. Clear vision guides our steps, offering direction and motivation on our Journey of Faith.
Matthew 19:14 NIV Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.
Jesus often spoke about the value of childlike faith. Children posses an innate ability to dream without limitations imaging fantastical worlds and possibilities. As believers, we are encouraged to approach our relationship with God with the same unbridled imaginations, trusting Him like a child trusts a loving parent.
Genesis 1:1 NIV In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Our God is a creative God, and we are made in His image. The very act of creation implies imagination, innovation, and bold dreaming. By tapping into our creativity, we align ourselves with the nature of God, allowing Him to work through us to bring forth new and extraordinary ideas.
Corinthians 5:7 ESV For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Dreaming big often involves stepping into the unknown with faith. God calls us to trust him even when we can't see the full picture. By relying on our faith rather than our limited understanding, we open ourselves to the exciting possibilities that God has instore for us.
1 Peter 4:10 NIV Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
Our dreams and imaginative visions are often intertwined with the unique gifts and talents God has given us. Embracing big dreams involves using these gifts to serve others and to glorify God.
